“ Should try Rawon when in Malang they said, and everyone I'd met recommended Rawon Tessy. They truly live up to their legendary name, their potato fried cake tastes so good when combined with the Rawon. It's a great place to get lunch with friends and family ”
“ One of pretty good Rawon in Malang. If you prefer sweet Rawon, you can try this one. Although for me, i prefer nasi campur. It has spiced beef ( Empal ) and some pickle on it. Empal is so tasty and soft easy to bite. Pickle is so refreshing. It has some extra condiment like mendol, perkedel, tempe, satay, and paru but it's pretty pricy. Overall pretty enjoyable and nice meal to try if you come to malang ”
“ Conveniently located near Malang’s main train station, this rawon spot tends to draw a decent crowd during breakfast and lunch hours. It’s frequently mentioned online as a must try destination for first time visitors and understandably so, given its visibility. That being said, a few locals and online transport drivers have quietly suggested other establishments that, in their opinion, serve a more refined or authentic version. One might say this place enjoys fame, while others enjoy favour. Worth a visit, though perhaps not the final word on rawon in Malang. ”
“ The place is indeed an easy to noticed and you can't missed. It is not really far from Train Station of Malang. The food is also an exceptional and tasty, like just an 'East Java' rawon. The best is of course the broth which is very delighted for your taste buds. The meat is tender yet juicy and really goes-in with the broth. Overall, Rawon Tessy is an exceptional Malang Food tou ought to try. ”
“ Visited on Sep 9, written on Sep 17, 2025. Road side small eatery that mainly offers Rawon dish. It is basically a traditional eastern Javanese beef stew served with rice. They accept cash, not sure if they accept online payment, and cards are not accepted. Apart from Rawon, they also serve Nasi Sop, Nasi Opor Ayam, Nasi Lodeh, Nasi Pecel, and Nasi Bali with egg. For beverages, they offer Teh Botol, iced and hot tea, orange drink, and hot coffee. Along with the main dish, they serve add-on plate of fried tempe, potato fritter, and beef jerky. Surely, I ordered the Nasi Rawon, which tasted okay. I added the fried tempe and potato fritter, which tasted so-so. The Nasi Rawon cost IDR 25.000, while the add-ons were IDR 6.000/ piece. ”
